The wt hat is good for questing as it gives a blade, in most situations it's better than the waterworks hat. The wt robe also gives a trap for bosses, otherwise worse than the waterworks robe. I personally prefer the waterworks gear over the crafted as it provides more universal resist and slightly more damage in some of the parts. The crafted gear does provide an extra blade and trap for your school however. If you don't feel like farming waterworks then the crafted gear will do you just fine until darkmoor :)Waterworks is totally worth the while. You get really good gear and its free.
