This is currently the latest iteration of Superb Survivors, it works with 41.73, but it has a lot of incompatibilities with other mods. There's a superb survivors mod, but it's janky as hell. As far as I know, it's the only mod that implements NPCs at any capacity. One of the best ones I’ve ever seen was called “SubparSuperiorSurvivors”. Unfortunately I uninstalled the mod and the creator made it private for some reason so it’s no longer listed.
