Shop manual specifies 2.110" from PTO disc hub to top of lever adjusting screws plus or minus 0.010" and a "G" gap of 0.050 to 0.054" (for my particular model) at release lever strut. How critical are these measurements?

Take an old spark plug and open the gap to 1/4". Then hook it to a spark plug wire to it and ground the plug body to the engine. Turn the engine over and look at your spark. You should see a bright, bluish- white spark that will easily jump the 1/4" gap. Weak, short or yellowish/reddish spark will NOT do.

Those rubber type hydraulic fittings weren't the best idea. What happens is due to vibration the metal gripping part of that rubber nut eats away at the steel line so it' doesn't grab so well.
