Franchi Affinity 3 vs Winchester SX4. I'm debating between these two for my new 12ga goose dropper. I've held the SX4 and liked the feel but can't find an Affinity 3 anywhere to try out. I would just go ahead and jump on the SX4 but I like the idea of the inertia system more. Over the M2 you would be getting Comfortech 3, combtech, Easy Bolt, new carrier latch design. At $1600 this would b e a very nice offering and is a once or two less weight than a SBE 3 - 3.5. The Benelli barrels will not fit the Franchi, location of the lug/recoil spring and the fact the Benelli barrel will probably set you back $500 makes this unfeasible and unrealistic. I own 2 Franchi Affinity’s; a 12ga elite waterfowl and a plain 20ga with wood stock and blued barrel. Function wise, they’re fantastic. I shoot a lot of skeet and have probably 15-17,000 rounds through the 12ga in the last 3.5 years, and another 3-4,000 through the 20ga. No issues, and very little cleaning.The only advantage to the M2 seems to be the comfortech stock resulting in less recoil. They both use the same chokes, have shims for drop and cast and share a bore diameter. The A300 has a traditional recoil pad and will allow you to adjust LOP. It also has a gas operating system and will be easier on the shoulder. It's going to come down to fit, the rest is just fluff.

I have a Affinity 3 and an A400(and a Benelli M2). The Affinity 3 is strictly for hunting for me: it’s got a 26” barrel and is nice and light for quick shots, great fit and finish. If you want inertia and are just starting out, the Affinity 3 or the Benelli M2 are the 2 I recommend most. For gas guns, the A400 is the top contender imo.
