It has an LGC serial prefix which I have been unable to research. I can't seem to find any info on aprox date of manufacture or production numbers. The two mags included are dated 9-03. However, I’m puzzled about the serial number. It’s 70G77XXX, which on the Colt website shows to be a “GOVERNMENT MODEL MKIV SERIES 70” made in 1974. I’m aware that some SM Aces were shipped with Series ’70 serial numbers instead of the usual SM number, but those seem to have a “B70” suffix, not a 70G prefix. ...I'm no expert but most of the Colt AR-15A2 Gov't Model rifles I had seen have the GS serial number prefix.
