The P320 is not actually much of a new design. It is basically just a P250 with the hammer system removed and a striker thrown in instead. It was a rushed slapdash design IMO. The tiny striker reset spring is easy to replace if you are fortunate to find them in stock online. Reportedly Sig recommends that the striker reset spring be replaced at about 15K rounds. However, dry firing may cause the reset spring to break also. Notwithstanding, the spring can fail at far less than the 15K striker resets.

The issues started when people reported the P320 could discharge if the back of the slide struck the ground at a certain angle after it dropped from a minimum height.
