Nov 21, 2014 · The .22 Magnum is my favorite "survival" round. A lot of ammo can be carried in a small space and the round kills all out of proportion to its size. Finding the right rifle to wrap around the cartridge however is somewhat difficult. For a survival rifle it has to be stainless and prefeably have a synthetic stock. The heavy barrels are the same .810" dia , yes drop in. Not sure if the 7k or the 717M are still made. Never heard of a 700. Wood looks the same.
