Crowns gear is usually not the top of the line (and personally I agree with that). Waterworks gear cannot be bought with real money, so the effort in obtaining, is equally rewarded in stats of gear. Death wizards do have their drains to increase their survivability, so House of Scales might be nice for the damage boost, but when it comes to facing bosses and higher level dungeons, you'll be glad you chose Waterworks. Waterworks is infamous for having the most overpowered gear in the entire game for high level (or medium level now) wizards since it came out. It has amazing universal resist and pretty much all of the other stats are great, too. This is a MUST! If there is only one thing you really farm for, get ALL three parts of the waterworks gear.
