Want to smooth and polish the bolt on my new 795. I will remove the firing pin and extractors before I do this. The firing pin is a no brainer. I am not sure of the correct way to remove the pins for the extractors. If there is a correct direction to drive them out, please describe. There are 2 reasons not to clean the barrel. # 1.) It is very easy to damage the crown of muzzle with cleaning rod if one is not VERY careful. 2.) It takes about 20 to 50 rounds of whatever ammo you are shooting to settle in to the bore of the barrel to get consistent accuracy out of the barrel. Like. P.

The model 795 is the one Ruger will need to kill to protect the 10/22. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the .22 lever guns. I just got around to measuring my 795/995 stocks, and may be able to offer a bit of encouragement. At the forward tip of the forearm both stocks are about 1.4", but just forward of the magazine/trigger guard, the 995 is about 1.7", where the 795 is about 1.5".Its a lot of work but at the end it pays off because its a nice touch and its one of the shortest flash hiders. Also now you have a flash hider that will mount onto any 795 and model 60 over and over.
