Clean the inside of the barrel using a Boresnake that is the correct size for the caliber of the gun. In this case, 45 ACP. Insert the small end of the Boresnake and pull it through slowly at lease 2 times.It cost about $1.75 to make. Go to your local hardware store and purchase a 3/8"diameter x 3/4" long nylon bolt and a 3/8" nylon nut. Thread the nut onto the bolt about half way. Lock the slide open and drop the bolt into the breech with the bolt down the barrel and the head of the bolt against the firing pin.
