If the noise was still there after the a/c belt snapped then the noise problem is elsewhere. Did you inspect the serpentine belt when you changed the a/c belt. Hello I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 and 6 speed transmission. Yesterday my truck started making a loud popping noise in the front end at low speeds in parking lots every once in a while. It seemed to start after I finished washing it at the car wash. After driving it for a little bit it went away and has not made the noise sense.

I started to try and isolate the problem. Upon acceleration the tick gets louder, and chirp is intermittent as if it was a pulley issue. I replaced the tensioner puller, but both noises continued.
