I thought I'd check the timing. Can someone help me with the firing order for my 9N Ford, and also the wire positions on the distributor cap (if read as a clock, to the 1 o'clock position, to the 4 o'clock position, to the 7 o'clock position and the 10 o'clock position). first thing i would check is firing order on dist cap.especially if its done it right along.as your standing in front of tractor looking at it #1-top left,#2 bottom left,#4-bttm right,# 3-top right,,firing order 1243 starting from front of tractor for #1cyl.but if it just started running bad its probably in need of a tune up like Bruce says.Dec 19, 2013. #1. First, if you are sure your firing order is correct--1243 CCW and you have good spark plug wires (copper core) and new Autolite 437 plugs gapped correctly at .025....then I would say you need to look at this as a distributor related problem.
