The quality and specs of these 2 guns is beyond the Mossberg 500 and a used Remington 870. The barrel on the Mossberg is parkerized while the receiver on the Supernova is encased inside polymer to guard against rust. Both never jam. I give the edge to the Benelli though, the capacity issue is fixed with an extension.

The 20 gauge Nova is the only one that functioned flawlessy and it and came home in shooting condition. It went through about 2400 rounds in four days and got really hot repeatedly and still functioned.

The SXP is about $350 and the Nova is $400. They both feel and fit well, maybe the Nova a bit better, but as a left handed shooter, the Nova’s pump release placement is annoying.
