There is a nut inside the middle of the hinge. You need to remove the hinge assembly and remove the cables, in the little cavity where the cables nest inside the hinge, there's a screw to remove the metal hinge cover thing. The only remaining issue is that the left side of lid is slightly bent and the thermals suck but other than that I'm happy again. Crooked hinge before the fix, notice the bent plastic cover and the crooked hinge. The wire pinched by the hinge.
