Hello All, I have owned my 2016 Ram 2500 with the 6.7 Cummins for two years. Periodically, the dash will notify me that a DPF Regen is in process. It will start a countdown at 100% and then slowly tick down to 90%, 80%, 70%, 60% and then give me the "DPF Regen Complete" message. We have been running them for over 7 years now and they continue to be high maintenance items. The active monitoring does help prolong their life, but the DPFs will get plugged. The CATs are for the most part fairly reliable.

Posted August 27, 2016. Have a 2016 Mack Granite 1400 miles, with a regen problem. It will not do a passive regen which results in the filter getting clogged every 4 days. We average speeds of over 60 Mph. The check engine light came on and I took it to Mack. they said that it needed a regen although it did not request it.

The DPF regeneration process will cause the filter to get EXTREMELY hot. To kick off a manual DPF regeneration you should. Put the vehicle in neutral. Put on the hand brake. Leave the pedals alone!
