The long story is that there are some other things that will need to be changed, so having access to a parts truck makes it a lot easier. That debate aside; from a conversion standpoint the ZF is better the following reasons. 1.) The transmission can be from any 7.3 diesel engine (small block gas will not work, big block 460 gas will work with modification I'm not getting into here). Be sure to get the tranny hump cover from in the cab too. You'll have to drill holes in the frame to relocate the cross member and skid plate.Im wondering what ZF-5 most people use and like best.
